STYGIA was unveiled in 2007 as a recording project featuring musicians Mike Vescera (Yngwie Malmsteen, Loudness, Obsession), Todd Seitz (STYGIA), Chris McCarvill (Dokken, Obsession, House of Lords), Vitalij Kuprij (Ring of Fire, Revenge), Mike Mangini (Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Annihilator, James Labrie) and Joe Stump (Reign of Terror). Stygia's music is intended to capture the epic brutality of several dark fantasy themes in the style of progressive power metal.

STYGIA has been resurrected a a 2024 album release. The album features Michael Vescera on Vox, Mike LePond (Symphony X) on Bass, Kevin Codfert (Myrath, Adagio) on Keyboards and John Macaluso (Ark, Michael Romeo, James Labrie, Malmsteen) on drums. Guest solos were contributed by Derek Sherinian (Former Dream Theater), Jens Johansson (Stratovarius, Malmsteen, Rainbow) and Timo Tolkki (Avalon, Allen/Lande, Ex Stratovarius). The music has been through a massive overhaul since its first conception.  Mixing to be done by Fredrik Nordstrom of Studio Fredman, well known for some of the best metal mixes in the business.  Stay tuned for release details!
